The problem of institution building has emerged as one of the most critical issues in the post-Taliban era. Independent research centers, academic institutions and think tanks are the constituents of a progressive and sustained Afghanistan. Today, the strength of a society is judged by the availability of realistic and fact based information. We believe that the failures of the past five years have been due to the non-realistic assumptions and use of inaccurate figures in the development of strategies and frameworks - though efforts have been with good intention.
Afghanistan has now almost reached the end of the historical open moment created after the fall of Taliban - to define the vision and develop policies that will characterize the future of Afghanistan and the life of Afghans. The development of policies and strategies depend on an increasing understanding of facts and figures, and an independent Center can respond to such a need - to assist the government and international community with provision of relevant backing.
The CFPP is one of the nation’s premier policy guiding organizations working at both the central and provincial levels on social strategies and development programs that affect individuals, businesses and public institutions. Keeping in view the obligations of the Afghan government towards the achievement of benchmarks stated in the Interim-Afghanistan National Development Strategy (I-ANDS), Afghanistan Compact and Vision 2020 (MDGs) - the opportunity is now apparent to address specific gaps to help the various stakeholders in aligning and integrating their efforts based on evidence.
